# Fees and revenue

GoFi earns a margin on every order. Revenue comes from usage, not from token sales, so the business stands on its own before the token launches.

| Product | User pays | How GoFi earns |
| --------------- | ---------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| eSIM data | The plan price | Margin over wholesale data cost. eSIM resellers typically keep 30–55% gross margin, and top-ups add 20–30% more revenue per customer. |
| Virtual numbers | Rental and renewal price | Margin on each rental and renewal; premium countries carry a higher margin. |
| Prepaid card | $0 to issue, 1% per top-up, 1.5% FX on non-USD spend | Top-up and FX fees, plus a share of interchange from the issuer. |
| Network fees | Paid by the user in their wallet | None. Shown at checkout. |

The card fees above are the launch schedule. GoFi plans to cut them toward the lowest in the market as card volume grows (see [Roadmap](/roadmap.md)).

The three products feed each other. A traveller who buys a data plan is the same person who needs a number to sign up and a card to pay. One checkout sells all three to the same user.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.gofi.cash/fees-and-revenue.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
